Do you have any tips about recording from a tube amp using a mic?
Been told that placing the mic is an art by itself where can we find more resources about this topic?
Best setup to record from a tube amp would be a dynamic instrument mic (we use Shure SM57) placed right in front of the speaker on say a gooseneck stand or something similar.
You need to be right up close (within a couple of centimetres or so) but you don't want the speaker grille cloth vibrating against the mic and making a noise.
